About
Who Goes Her Way is a blog started by two old college roommates who find themselves stirred by questions
- about the intersection of human dignity and the messiness of reality
- about the real possibilities of mankind and what it means to be a woman fully alive
- about the tension between the forces of the world and the nature of Grace
The blog title is borrowed from Edith Stein (also known as St. Teresa Benedicta of the Cross) who once wrote that the goal of the education of women included the person “…who is what she is supposed to be personally, who goes her way, and performs her work.” She went on to clarify, “Her way is not chosen in an arbitrary fashion; it is the way in which God leads her.”1
We write as women, as Christians, as the spiritual daughters of St. John Paul the Great and the many other holy men and women who have nurtured us in our ongoing search for our “way.”
At times our posts may be simply a reflection of our working out the questions that life presents. (Fair warning: It might get a little messy.) At other times, we may evaluate current trends, ideas and events in light of the question, “Who goes her way?”, proposing that the Church and the world might benefit from putting themselves in women’s shoes. We hope to use this blog to share articles and blog posts that we find intriguing, inspirational and/or troubling. And we hope our own posts will be more of the same.

About us
Marie Cehovin never developed any real hobbies because growing up she spent too much of her time at the church. She still faces the same problem but at least now they pay her for it. She loves teaching, especially about the Catholic faith. She is often an accidental evangelist for her many passions, such as Texas, fresh roasted coffee and natural living. You can see her professional background at Linked In. She lives with her husband, daughter, dog and cat in her hometown of Austin.
Valerie Pokorny is a lover of all things Texas, coffee, and chocolate. Long before she knew how to use a computer for design, she created her own newsletter as an eager middle schooler by literally cutting and pasting graphics and copy onto the page. Valerie started writing for a local paper when she was in high school and went on to combine writing and editing with layout and design. Now she supervises art projects by little hands at the kitchen table and has become her daughters’ master bedtime storyteller. She lives with her husband, children, and dog in San Antonio.
